HSU urologist Alan Doherty has been voted one of the UK’s top prostate cancer surgeons in a poll of urologists
Alan Doherty has been voted one of the UK’s best prostate cancer surgeons in a poll of more than 40 urologists.
The Daily Mail asked urologists: “if your nearest and dearest was diagnosed with prostate cancer, who would you want to treat them?”
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, with 34,000 men being diagnosed with the disease each year.
Mr Doherty is among the top ten chosen. He is noted for the large number of prostatectomies he has undertaken, his expertise in keyhole surgery, his commitment to publishing results and his expertise in nerve-sparing surgery.
