Mr Simon Choong – kidney stone specialist

Mr Simon Choong is a nationally recognised specialist in the management and treatment of kidney, ureteric and bladder stones.

His NHS post is Consultant Urologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College Hospital, London and Honorary Consultant to St Luke's Hospital for the Clergy.

Mr Choong was awarded a Hunterian Professorship for his extensive research in the field of kidney stone disease and is currently the Director of Endourology and Stone Unit at the Institute of Urology, University College London Hospitals.

This is a tertiary referral centre, treating patients with the most complex types of stones and offering the full spectrum of advanced treatments.

Mr Choong has extensive experience of all treatment modalities including percutaneous nephrolithotomy, flexible ureterorenoscopy, rigid ureterolithotomy, and lasering of stones and upper urinary tract tumours. Mr Choong has published widely in his field and is a nationally recognised surgical trainer in stone management and treatment.
